Fees compound too
A 2% annual fee sounds like almost nothing. But fees are charged on your whole balance, every year, forever - and every rand taken in fees also takes all the growth that rand would have earned. Over thirty years, high fees can quietly eat a third of a portfolio. The industry knows this, which is why fees are usually printed small.
What Dreamer charges, in full
The membership, from R99 a month - and past R150 000 invested, it falls away entirely. A 0.5% yearly platform fee on what you invest - that is what funds the round-ups, the bank feeds, the weekly reports and the automation doing your saving for you. And the fund's own fee, at most 0.39% for most funds, shown before you choose. All-in: at most 0.89% a year. Always under 1%. Nothing hidden.
No withdrawal fee. No fee to pause. No fee to leave. No advisor taking an ongoing cut, because there is no advisor - you choose your own funds, and nobody earns commission on your choice.
How to read any provider's fees
Three questions cut through every fee page in the industry. One: what is the all-in number - platform plus fund plus advisor - as a percentage of my money per year? Two: does anyone in the chain earn commission for putting me in this product? Three: what does it cost to leave? If a provider makes any of those three hard to answer, that is itself the answer.
